Brittany Witham is a Data Engineer on GivingTuesday's data team and the founder of Geopolitica Technologies, a startup developing AI to predict geopolitical risks. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Brittany earned a Master's degree in European and Russian Affairs at the University of Toronto and soon after relocated to Montréal, becoming immersed in the city's artificial intelligence space. After leading research & development for AI companies in the business intelligence and video games sectors, she founded Geopolitica Technologies in 2021 to enhance our understanding of society using data science. This led her to join the GivingTuesday Data Commons, where she develops core technical infrastructure and leads the research for the Generosity & Crisis Working Group, which leverages data science to explore the effect of generosity in countries experiencing crisis events.
