Demetria George Caston (Austin) is the Executive Director for Impact Austin, a women’s collective giving organization which provides transformational grants to Central Texas nonprofits. With more than twenty years of expertise, leadership, and passion for nonprofit fundraising, program development, and community engagement, she was previously the Chief Development Officer for Breast Cancer Resource Center. Before moving to Austin, Demetria worked with nonprofit and higher learning institutions including Make-A-Wish Hawaii, Mercy Ships, Hill College and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She also consulted on fundraising campaigns in Texas and the Washington, D.C. area with Community Counselling Service. As an active member of the Austin (TX) Chapter of The Links, Inc, Demetria was encouraged by previous Leadership Women graduates to apply to this year's class. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Xavier University of Louisiana, where she began her nonprofit career and continues to be an active alumna holding key volunteer and leadership positions. Demetria also holds a Master of Science in Health Care Management from the University of New Orleans. She has been a Certified Fund-Raising Executive since 2009.
