Dr. Katie Conboy is the fourteenth president of Saint Mary’s College. Now in the third year of her presidency, Dr. Conboy continues to put her three decades of experience in higher education to work and is leading Saint Mary’s into a strong and vibrant future. She joined the College from Simmons University in Boston, an all-women’s institution, where she served as Provost and Senior Vice President. Prior to Simmons, she spent 26 years at Stonehill College in Massachusetts, first as a faculty member in the Department of English, and later as the college’s first Provost. In her early time at Saint Mary’s, she has already partnered with the college leadership to unite the community around a new strategic plan, which focuses on empowering leaders, enriching our community, and enhancing our future. She brings tremendous energy and enthusiasm for Saint Mary’s into all her efforts. Dr. Conboy earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Kansas and her Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Notre Dame. She has published widely on British fiction, feminist theory, and Irish literature. An innovative and collaborative thought-leader, Katie is a great asset to Saint Mary’s College and the South Bend community.
