Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy
Born in Mexico City and raised in Southern California, Adriana has worked at the intersection of philanthropy and human rights locally, nationally, and internationally, in support of topics ranging from everything between the arts and law. She believes in the power of philanthropy to make this world better—a commitment she lives and breathes.
At Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP), Adriana leads organizational efforts to mobilize resources to build inclusive philanthropic leaders, build partnerships to increase joint impact, and to approach fundraising with an asset-based lens. As a PhD student, she has studied philanthropic movements and is defending her dissertation proposal on the Latino Community Foundation's Giving Circle Network—the largest Latinx philanthropic movement in the country.
Adriana is also the co-founder of their San Diego Giving Circle, mentioned recently in the Wall Street Journal. She has lived and worked in New York, Washington, San Diego, and Mexico City and has a decade of experience accessing multiple philanthropic revenue streams—from foundations to corporations to individuals and more.
Her passion is around culture and collective giving at the community level and ways in which philanthropic movements can be created, sustained, and supported.
